The craft, in three stages

Learn video the way
films are actually made.

Two days, structured like a real production. Every stage ends with something you made.

01
Pre-production

Made before the camera rolls

  • Your story, in one page
  • Shot list & storyboard
  • Choosing your location — office, shop, site
  • Planning your light
You'll produceA film plan and storyboard you shoot from on day one.
02
Production

The dials that make it cinematic

  • The exposure triangle
  • The 180° rule & frame rates
  • Framing & camera movement
  • Natural & practical light
  • Find it on your camera
You'll produceYour film's footage — shot deliberately, for the edit.
03
Post-production

Where the movie look is born

  • The cut & rhythm
  • Colour grading
  • Sound & music
  • Licensed & royalty-free music, from day one
You'll produceYour finished, graded, scored film — ready to post.
The sum of three stages: a 60–90 second film that looks like cinema.
Stills · by Joseph Goh

Before it moves,
it has to be seen.

Film is photography, 24 times a second. Light, composition and the patience to wait for the frame — this is the eye we train first, and Joseph's stills are the standard.

Who it's for

Most people post clips.
Very few post films.

If you want your videos to look like a movie — for yourself, your page or your brand — this is the gap we close.

🎬

Anyone with a story to tell

Travel, family, a short film, your own channel. Learn to plan, light, frame and grade like a filmmaker — and leave with a cinematic film of your own.

🏪

Founders & creators

You are the brand. Shoot your own founder story, product film and behind-the-scenes — on the phone already in your pocket.

💼

Marketing & social media teams

Send the people who already shoot for your page. In two days they come back with a finished brand film — and SFEC covers most of it.

Sending a group? Tell us about your brand when you register and the day-one exercises are built around your products, your space and your people — so the film your team makes in class is one you can actually post. Joining solo? Bring an idea, or use one of ours.
Any camera

The camera doesn't make it cinematic.
You do.

Bring the phone in your pocket or the mirrorless in the office cupboard — the craft is identical. Exposure, framing, movement, light and colour work exactly the same on both. The dials just live in different menus, and we show you where.

So no one needs to buy gear before joining.

One film. A month of posts.

Shoot once, properly. Then post for weeks — this course runs under our content creation programme, so the calendar is part of it, whether it's your channel or your company's.

Who you'll learn from

Practitioners first.
Trainers second.

Taught by people who still shoot — for brands and for themselves — and who'll be in the room with you for both days.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked

I've never filmed anything. Can I join?
Yes — the course is built for beginners. We start from zero and you'll have shot your first deliberate frames within the first morning. Bring your phone.
Can my company sponsor staff for this?
Yes. SMEs get up to 70% SSG funding, and eligible companies can claim 90% of the nett fee back through SFEC — as long as the training ends by 30 Nov 2026. We walk you through both claims before class.
Do I need a camera?
Any camera works — the phone you already carry is enough. The course teaches the universal layer of filmmaking, and we show you where to find every control on the camera you actually own.
Will the film be about my brand?
If you tell us about your brand when you register, the day-one exercises are built around your products, space and people — so the film your team makes in class is one you can actually post.
I'm not from a company. Is this still for me?
Yes — most of the room will be individuals. Same class, same craft, your own film. Singaporeans can offset the nett fee with SkillsFuture Credit or PSEA, and NTUC members can claim UTAP.
What do I leave with?
A finished 60–90 second film, a WSQ Statement of Attainment, and the craft to make the next one — on any camera, without an agency.
